The food service staff at Camp Selah does not include a registered dietician. Therefore, any camper with physician-diagnosed food allergies or other eating disabilities will be responsible for supplying food substitutions to accommodate unacceptable menu items for their diet. The food service staff will be happy to store/prepare these substitutions. To request menu copies for your review or for further information or questions, contact Food Service Director, Sharon Winkler swinklerfsd@gmail.com.
A certified health officer is on site at all times during camp and a designated camp doctor is nearby in case of emergency. If a camper becomes injured or sick, the health officer will do the initial assessment and determine the best course of action. If a situation warrants a camper visiting a doctor, hospital or returning home, the health officer will communicate with the parent/guardian of the child directly to determine the next steps. Ultimately the decision will ALWAYS be up to the parent of the child.
Campers are covered by a secondary accident/illness insurance policy. In the event of an accident, the camper’s personal insurance company will be billed for any medical-related expenses with Camp Selah’s insurance covering any remaining balance.
We seek to provide a safe and loving environment for each camper. To make sure of this, we adhere to a set camper discipline policy: 1st offense, verbal warning; 2nd offense, phone call to parents; 3rd offense, dismissal. We also strictly enforce a no-prank-policy.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact us. We are happy to hear from you!
