Joe Marr
Joe hails from Tecumseh, MI. He’s 20 years old and has been going to Camp Selah since the summer of 2004. Camp Selah is very important to Joe because it’s the place where his relationship with Christ began. He will always have a passion for camp ministry for that reason! Joe attends Oakwood Church in Saline, MI and has been there since the fall of 2004; it’s a great church and he’s made some great friends there. Joe enjoys spending time with the youth at Oakwood and is currently the Wednesday night children's director. The Lord has blessed him with many opportunities to serve and he is so thankful for that. When Joe isn’t at camp, he works two jobs and also goes to school. He completed his general education requirements at Washtenaw Community College, and is transferring to Central Michigan University in the fall to pursue a degree in economics. Joe says, “The Lord has put so many great people in my life, and has taken many things away. It is great to know that His plan is perfect and that no one slips through the cracks. I am honored to serve Jesus at Camp Selah this summer, and with the rest of my life. I look forward to seeing you at camp this year!”

Courtney Awe
Courtney is 20 years old and is currently not in college. She hopes to go to cosmetology school to pay her way through bible school as she heads for whatever mission field God is preparing for her. Since graduating high school she has been rotating her time between work and missions trips. Fun facts: in the last eight years she has been to Venezuela three times, Canada three times, and one time to England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland, the Philippines, Honduras and Peru! She also ate a candy bar in Guam on a layover on a plane! She has been coming to Camp Selah literally all her life and this will be her second year on staff as a counselor and a lifeguard. She likes to do crafts, play, sing, dance, walk around talking in funny accents to her campers and just have FUN!!! Courtney says, “I am so excited to be at camp this year to make new friends, see old ones and introduce my campers to my best friend, Jesus! I hope He can be as real in your life as He is in mine! Yay Camp Selah! Be strong!”

Lisa Mathews (Leisl)
Lisa is from Rochester, MI, and graduated from Cedarville University this past year with a degree in Math and Secondary Math Education. She hopes to start teaching high school or middle school math soon! Lisa says, “I am excited to come back to Selah for the third time as a counselor this summer. I love being with kids, having a lot of fun, and learning more about Christ with the campers. I thank God for this opportunity to work at camp!”

Jonica Geisel
Jonica lives in a small town in Iowa called Salem and works at an elementary school near there. She is passionate about the Lord and worship music. She has written some worship songs and will be recording them later this summer! This will be Jonica’s second summer at camp Selah and she is excited to be able to come back for another year with all the kids! She had an amazing and awesome time last year and lots of good memories were made. Jonica says, “My favorite part of camp was seeing how the Lord used me and to be part of the change in many of my campers lives. I am ready to see a harvest for the Lord again this year. I can't wait to see everyone!”

Lisa Underwood
Lisa comes to us from Swanton, OH. This will be her first summer as a counselor, and she is really exited! :0) Lisa went to Camp Selah when she was younger and loved it! Currently, she is a junior at Toccoa Falls College in Georgia and is majoring in Cross-Cultural Studies with a minor in Biblical Studies and Hebrew. Lisa enjoys living in the foothills of the Smokies and loves the hikes and beautiful places and people around there! After graduating she plans to go overseas as the Lord guides and directs to share His truth and love with others. Lisa says, “I'm so blessed to have this opportunity to spend a summer up at Selah and I look forward to seeing God work in everyone's lives. Rick’s future plans are to love God first and foremost with his whole heart in whatever God has for him to do. He is starting to put together his own "ministry", training young people in discipleship. He wants to focus on preparing students and this next generation to step out in what God is calling them to do. Rick is still looking for work after camp (and a car! ) but trusting God to provide him with both. Ranger says, “I have been at Camp Selah for the past two years and have had just an awesome time both years and I am excited to be coming back for another great year. I am a jokester so don't be surprised if I say something out of place or off the cuff or do the craziest random thing, that’s just me I like to have fun!”

Dave Greene

Dave also lives in Ossian, IN. He is a junior at Bethel College studying International Studies with a concentration in Ministry (He switched majors this past fall from Health and PE). He plans to go into Missions when he graduates, but he’s not exactly sure where so he’s just trying to follow Christ (He has faith that he'll end where God wants him!). Dave says, “This will be my third summer here at Camp Selah and I'm really looking forward to it; it’s kind of amazing that I'm even coming back this summer (I’m sure God had a hand it) but I'm really excited to be working at camp and with all of you!”

Will resides in Ossian, IN and is the third Greene brother to grace Camp Selah with his presence! Will is 18 and will graduate from home school in a few weeks. He hopes to take pre-med at Bethel College this fall and someday go into medical missions. Will enjoys playing all kinds of sports—especially football! He also enjoys playing guitar and doing strange pencil drawings whenever he feels like killing time. This will be Will’s first year working at Camp Selah and he says, “I'm really excited about working with every one at camp this summer and can’t wait to meet you all in person in a few weeks! So until then, take care and God bless.”

Taylor Wittenbach
Taylor’s from Camden, MI, he’s 17 years old and he started going to camp in 2003. He’s currently working with his Dad on houses and barns, and he works with his youth group/church. Taylor’s church is the Hillsdale United Brethren, or as he likes to call it—the HUB. Taylor says, “I'm so excited about this summer! ‘Cause when you put a bunch of people that love God with a bunch of kids in one place, amazing things happen.” (We couldn’t have said it any better Taylor!)

Justin Vargo

Justin Hauser

Liz Brewington
Liz is a seventeen year old from Angola, IN. This will be her sixth year at Camp Selah! She is super excited about working at camp because it is literally her favorite place to go. Liz says, “Every time I have ever gone I have learned something so valuable to me and I would not be the person I am today without camp and the people who have worked there!”

Molly Wittenbach
Molly lives just down the road in Camden, MI (a very small farm town). She is going to be in 11th grade at "The Wittenbach Institute Of Higher Learning" (aka home-school) this fall. She’s not sure yet as to what she is going to be doing with her life after high school or beyond that, but she would like to be in the ministry working with younger children or worship, or both; but she is not sure if that is what the Lord wants her to do yet. She does know that God has a plan for her and as she grows in him He will show her the way. Molly has been going to Selah for about four summers and says, “I am very excited to be on staff this year! The reason for that is I have grown so much in the Lord from going to camp over the years, and I would like have an impact on the kids’ lives this year at camp, just as the staff has on me.”
